Puff pastry with apples and walnuts

Category: Desserts

.. an apple-based dessert that screams autumn and sweet awakening. In fact, this morning I warmed it up slightly and I swear.. better than breakfast at the café! I used Golden apples because those were the ones I had and needed to use up. Also great with pears!

  1. STEP 1 OF 6

Cut the apples into thin slices. I used them with the peel on after washing them thoroughly.

  2. STEP 2 OF 6

Put them in a bowl together with the sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice and mix well.

  3. STEP 3 OF 6

At this point, unroll the puff pastry and place it in the baking tray. Prick it with a fork and spread it evenly with jam .. I used orange and lemon jam

  4. STEP 4 OF 6

Now arrange the apple slices. If the pastry is round, arrange them in a radial pattern.. if it is rectangular like mine, alternate the direction of each row to create a nicer effect.

  5. STEP 5 OF 6

Add the walnuts here and there and finally a pinch of brown sugar to further caramelize the surface of the apples.

  6. STEP 6 OF 6

Bake at 180 degrees for about 25 minutes, checking often. A pleasant discovery for those who, like us, love apple desserts.
