A simple, healthy and sugar-free dessert made with apples cooked with ghee butter and cinnamon. A quick, adaptable recipe, ideal for those following a gluten-free or low-carb diet. Few ingredients, quick preparation and a tasty, light result.
Step 1 of 5: Wash the apples thoroughly; if you prefer, you can peel them or leave the skin on. Cut the apples into uniform pieces of about 2 cm.
Step 2 of 5: Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and add the ghee butter, letting it melt slowly.
Step 3 of 5: Add the apple pieces to the pan and gently stir to coat them with the ghee butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon evenly and, if desired, add a pinch of salt to balance the flavors.
Step 4 of 5: Cover the pan with a lid and let cook over low heat for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples soften without falling apart. For a light caramelization, increase the heat in the last 1-2 minutes.
Step 5 of 5: Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Serve the cooked apples in a bowl, garnished with more cinnamon or a teaspoon of yogurt for a fresh contrast.
