Wash the eggplant, cut it into fairly thick round slices with a vegetable slicer and grill them on both sides, then arrange them on a plate.
Cut the cooked ham and Gruyère into squares the size of the eggplant width.
Let the eggplants cool for about 10 minutes, then top the center with a piece of cooked ham and Gruyère, and finally salt.
Using one or two toothpicks, form a roll so the cheese does not come out during cooking.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes, just long enough to melt the cheese.
