A creamy and comforting hot chocolate, perfect for an autumn or winter snack. It is prepared gluten-free with milk, cornstarch, and dark chocolate, with optional sweetener and whipped cream to taste.
Pour the milk or plant-based beverage into a small saucepan and add the cornstarch, whisking until you obtain a smooth, lump-free mixture.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and continue stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and reaches a creamy consistency.
Turn off the heat, add the dark chocolate broken into pieces, and stir until it has melted completely. Add the sweetener if you would like sweeter hot chocolate.
Pour the hot chocolate into a cup and serve immediately, with or without whipped cream according to your taste.
Hand whisk
It is best to consume the hot chocolate immediately after preparation. Any leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for one day and reheated, stirring well.
The recipe is naturally gluten-free if you use certified ingredients. You can replace cow's milk with a plant-based beverage and adjust the sweetness to taste.
